Traffic offenses encompass a large array charges. They vary from a simple speeding ticket to criminal felony and misdemeanor charges such as improper registration plates, reckless driving, driving while license suspensed DWLS, felonious driving and negligent homicide.
In Michigan a police officer only needs reasonable suspicion that you have committed a traffic violation to pull you over. For you to be found responsible for a civil infraction “traffic ticket,” a court merely needs to find you responsible by a preponderance which means more likely than not you committed the infraction.
